Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Construction is becoming increasingly popular due to its many homeowner benefits.  Insulated Concrete Forms are stackable, interlocking and lightweight forms that incorporate interior and exterior insulation and may be used for almost all exterior wall applications.  ICF Construction creates strong walls because they are constructed of concrete.  The interior and exterior insulation will lower your energy bills because of their efficiency; this energy efficiency also means you will achieve a more consistent internal temperature in your home.  Additionally, ICF walls provide a measure of soundproofing, giving you a quieter home environment than many other building materials.

Once built, an ICF home is indistinguishable from traditionally built houses.  The main difference is that the walls of an ICF home will be thicker than those of a traditionally built house; this means the overall square footage is generally increased to ensure identical interior room sizes.  As a result of increased wall thickness, windows and doors will need to be ordered with wider jamb extensions as well.

Though ICF homes may initially cost a little more to bulid, they save the homeowner money in the long term due to lower utility bills.
